Is a c6 transmission good for a fox body mustang with a 351 windsor ?

the c6 is a bullet proof tranny and with the right hard parts can go beyond 1000 hp. [search e-bay] the real draw back is that it takes more hp to operate it than a modern tranny such as the e4od plus its only a 3 speed. you probably will shred several manuals before the c6 goes south. any tranny off a 302 should fit the 351w. im not sure, but i don't think the c6 was ever put in a fox body so i would check with someone for fitment problems. another thing i cant remember, but i think the shifter arm in [coming out of] the c6 is different for a floor shift and a column shift. you should check on that because the tranny you are going to get is probably a column shift. on a restro-mod an auto is just so much easier to deal with. anyway, good luck.
