How can I improve the oiling system when I rebuild my Dodge's 440 engine?

assuming this is a drag application, something you can do is with the heads removed tap the oil passage hole(in the head )that connects the block to the heads and install a set screw with a small 1/8 inch hole to keep more pressure in the block use a larger capacity oil pan since the high volume pump will be pumping more oil if you are building from scratch you can also enlarge the oil passages leading to the main bearing if you have more interest check with your local machine shop
